Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for assisting with the daily tasks and activities within the Department of Public Works (DPW). Under direct supervision of the Public Works Director, this position performs a variety of manual labor and tasks in the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for operating a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of Village streets, public rights-of-way, storm water system infrastructure, and public grounds and facilities. This position is also responsible for snow and ice control and other severe weather operations.Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid state-issued Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License in good standing with no restrictions for air brake operation. The ability to obtain a tanker (N) endorsement within six (6) months of hire is also required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in equipment operations, general construction, or applicable trade is required, preferably within the Public Works field. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: ability to work well in a team atmosphere, willingness to learn, excellent communication, self-motivation, and culture fit.
