WMCA Committee Application

One of the most impactful changes OnBoardGOV will bring is a more efficient and transparent process for committee appointments. Committees play a vital role in our organization, driving much of our essential work. Our goal is to ensure that every member has an equal opportunity to apply for and serve on committees, fostering greater involvement and networking within the association.


A More Efficient, Transparent Future


With the implementation of OnBoardGOV, we are taking a major step toward improving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in committee administration. This system ensures that the President has a fresh and diverse pool of interested members when making appointments, while also making it easier for members to stay informed and engaged in the governance process.

 

We encourage all members to explore the OnBoardGOV landing page, where they can browse available committees, track vacancies, and apply for open positions. This initiative marks a significant advancement in our commitment to inclusive participation and organizational excellence.

 

How the New Appointment Process Works

  1. Annual Application Window:
    • On May 1st, all current committee members will receive a notification that their appointment will expire on August 31st.
    • Members will be invited to reapply for their current committee and/or explore new committees of interest.
    • At the same time, the entire membership will be notified that all committee positions are open for applications.
  2. Simple and Accessible Application Process:
    • The process is designed to be quick and user-friendly, ensuring ease of access.
    • Members can select multiple committees they would like to be considered for.
    • Applicants may also indicate if they are interested in serving as a committee chair.
  3. Deadline and Review Process:
    • The application window closes on June 15th.
    • This allows the President ample time to review submissions and build committee rosters.
    • Final committee appointments will be presented to the Board of Directors at their first Organizational Meeting.
  4. Ongoing Committee Openings:
    • At any time throughout the year, members can visit the OnBoardGOV landing page to view open committee seats and apply.
    • Around May 1st, all seats will be marked as expiring, allowing all members to become involved and current members an opportunity to continue serving.
