• In today’s challenging landscape, it is critically important for local election officials to prioritize physical security in their offices and keep themselves, their staff, and their voters safe. In this class, election officials will consider ways to harden physical defenses and make plans to deter, de-escalate, defend, and mitigate damage should situations develop.

• Over the last 3-4 years, we have been through challenging circumstances. Challenges that changed the way we live and the way we do business, maybe forever. In the midst of this, we were adapting to rapid changes in society and rapid changes in election processes and procedures. We administered an election that immediately had doubt cast on it. We’ve spent endless hours explaining and educating. It has taken its toll on our mental and emotional well-being. In this class, we will discuss stress, burnout, and how to build resilience as we face the 2024 election cycle.
