Education/Training

The mission of the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association is to provide the best education possible to help the municipal clerk keep up with the ever changing laws and local government requirements in Wisconsin. This mission is carried out all year long.

There are two or three one-day training sessions held in each District of the WMCA throughout the year. Specialty classes such as Board of Review, Parliamentary Procedures and Election trainings are coordinated, as needed, throughout Wisconsin at various times of the year. Then in August, the WMCA holds its annual education conference, which has just expanded to two and a half days of current and relavent classes on the hot topics concerning the clerks today. There is also a day of pre-conference classes which feature our New Clerks Class, a Master Academy class through the UW-Green Bay and an Athenian Dialog sponsored by the PEC.

The WMCA is also a proud sponsor of the UW-Green Bay Clerks & Treasurers Institute held each summer at the Hotel Sierra in downtown Green Bay. The Municipal Clerks & Treasurers Institute is the only training program in the state of Wisconsin that teaches clerks and treasurers how to do their job. This unique program provides 33 hours of education a year, for three years, plus invaluable opportunities to network and get your questions answered. They have an expert faculty of lawyers, professionals in the field, state employees, consultants, and UW faculty providing accurate information that will set you up for success in your job.
